Glass
Solutions
Achieve Primary and
Secondary Glass Manufacturing
Goals.
Raytek thermometers are used with
furnaces, bulk glass, melter,
regenerator, refiner, forehearth,
gob, molds, float lines, and
annealing lehrs, as well as at the
cooling and coating areas.
Melt Furnace - Monitor
packing and refactory materials
for deterioration with Raytek
sensors to plan maintenance and
rebuilding schedules, and
eliminate emergency situations.
Flat Glass - Mount sensors
over each flat glass production
zone to insure correct
edge-to-edge glass temperature and
a consistent flat surface.
Bottles and Containers -
Maintain proper forehearth
temperature with an infrared
thermometer to insure proper
molten glass homogenous condition
at exit.
Glass Fiber - Use infrared
fiber optic sensors to monitor and
control forehearth zone
temperatures to maintain the
optimum molten glass temperature
as it enters the fiberizer.
Benefits:
- Increased throughput and packing
rate
- Improved process control
- Increased product uniformity
- Higher product quality
- Less production downtime
